Welcome to
the Butterfly Gardens at Middleton Common Farm
Within the tropical flight area we have created an environment which is carefully controlled and monitored to ensure perfect conditions for our live butterflies.
The tropical temperature and humidity is created not only for the hundreds of tropical butterflies, but to also sustain the tropical plants and flowers needed to enable the butterflies to feed, breed and lay their eggs.
The habitat of the butterflies has been reconstructed at our butterfly farm in such a way as to allow visitors an insight into the fascinating way of life of these amazing insects.

Blue Light Card provides those in the NHS, emergency services, social care sector and armed forces with 20% Discount on Adult Entry To The Butterfly Gardens.
Family Carers Discounts
Due to our low entrance prices we are unable to offer carers discounts. If you work in social care then you could be entitled to a Blue Light Card.

Dogs
Whilst we encourage well behaved dogs on the Farm and there are plenty of public footpaths around us we do not allow Dogs inside the Butterfly Gardens except for assistance dogs.

Our New Inhabitants
On Saturdays and Sundays our Butterfly Gardens team will be in the Butterfly Gardens and will tell you all about our new inhabitants.
A great opportunity to get to know these amazing insects and even have the opportunity to handle them!
No additional cost involved , your entry into the butterfly gardens will allow you access to see these wonderful creatures (Subject to availability)

Tea Room & Miniature Railway
There is a Tea Rooms on site offering hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice creams. There is also a miniature railway which operates at Weekends and Holidays (Subject to weather). These concessions are not owned or managed by The Butterfly Gardens.
